| While your vision is our most important consideration, we realize that style is equally important to many of our patients, no matter what their age. Eyewear is a fashion statement for young and old alike --- and for both men and women. Our first impression of others is visual, and eyewear design is definitely part of one's overall presentation. We offer hundreds of frame styles, so whatever your taste --- very subdued and sophisticated or elegant and contemporary or extremely colorful and fashion forward --- we can help you project your individual personality without sacrificing the health of your eyes. |
We will help you choose eyeglasses that will meet your needs and fit your lifestyle. If you can't see the computer screen at work, if you're having difficulty reading small print, or if you can't see clearly at a distance, we have just the solution to your problem. We can provide you with single vision, bifocal, or trifocal eyeglasses in the latest lightweight lens and frame materials for comfort and wearability. If you are bothered by glare when driving at night, you might let us apply an anti-glare coating like what is used on camera lenses. Does your prescription give your eyes an unattractive bug-eyed or coke bottle look? If so, we can use an aspheric lens which makes the lenses flatter and eliminates that buggy appearance. These are just a few of the many solutions available to you when you come to Santa Fe Vision for your examination and eyeglasses. We are always happy to answer questions and to confer with you regarding your individual eyesight problems. |
Sunglasses aren't just fashion accessories for the summer months. They are necessary protection for your eyes all year long. Studies show that exposure to ultraviolet light can contribute to a number of ocular complications, including: photokeratitis, or "snow blindness"; cataracts; pterygium (a benign, abnormal growth on the eye's surface, which may require surgery if sight is threatened); and macular degeneration. Close-fitting, wrap-around style or larger lenses provide better protection for your eyes, but dark-colored lenses aren't always the best choice. It's the chemical coating that is applied to the lens that is responsible for UV protection, not the lens color. UV-absorbing contact lenses should not be used as substitutes for sunglasses. Children are more prone to sun damage to the eyes because their lenses are clearer, so be sure to protect your chid's eyes with sunglasses that filter out 100% of the harmful UV rays. |
With the wide variety of contact lenses now available, almost everyone can experience the convenience of wearing them, at least on special occasions. You can enjoy completely unobstructed vision, with no annoying reflections that distract or obscure. Also, since there are no frames to contend with, you don't have to worry about lines or marks on your face. Contact lenses provide better depth and peripheral vision, so they give the wearer more freedom and confidence -- especially in sporting activities when conventional eyeglasses might be bothersome. Contact wearers can even wear goggles and face masks with ease and comfort. If style and fashion are top priorities with you, but you have a vision problem to contend with, contact lenses can be the perfect answer. Wearing contacts might give you the freedom that you've been seeking. We offer several brands and styles of contact lenses for single vision, bifocal and astigmatism and for both daily or extended wear. Click on Contact Lenses in the menu to learn more. |
